We have two wonderful Boston Terriers. Missi is just turning 6 and we have had her since she was 7 weeks. Paddy is approx. 3, our foster girl, who we look after for the Boston Rescue Assn. She had many awful abuse and health problems, but we have had her for a year, and she is now a happy little girl with no problems. However, our Missi has us perplexed. She was a little overweight at 42 lbs, but she is a very long legged Boston and looked just a bit too round, all of a sudden she started to lose weight, and now has lost 18 lbs, and weights 24lbs. She is perky, active, and not lethargic in any way, she has just got skinny, all of her bones are showing especially the hips and spine. We have had her tested for absolutely everything, including urine & fecal tests, all coming back as normal. We think she is going to die of skinnieness. We have wondered about a tapeworm, does anyone have any experience like this that led to a tapeworm. We now have her on a supplement called Nutri-cal, hoping that will put some weight back on her.

Exactly what tests were done? Has she received any treatments?

If she had tapeworm for over a year you would be seeing segments in her stool.

Is there any special diet to be given to them in summer?

My border collie had a sudden weight loss and the vet recommended pancreas. We had a sheep butchered and used that pancreas, but you can buy it in pill form. It should be a temporary measure.
