I need help.  My dog (10 year old Jack Russell) very well behaved dog. He does have severe anxiety with fireworks and thunder. I can leave him at our home no problem.  The problem is we have a summer cottage. He does not like going there and will not get out of car when we get there.  Then he will be okay there unless there are fireworks. Here is the big problem…he has severe separation anxiety when we leave him at the cottage (even with no fireworks).  I have a camera in the house and he howls for hours.  I have never seen him howl before until we got the camera. It breaks my heart.  What can I do?  I have tried many things including xanax.

Is your dog crate trained?  If so he might feel more secure in a lightly covered crate with a soft background noise.  If this is a new behavior, have him checked by a Vet to rule out health problems.  Good luck!
